A Native
Texan, Linda Chalberg has lived in Boerne since 1979. With degrees
in education and library science she has been a teacher, librarian,
but mostly a stay at home mom, soccer coach, and PTO president and
volunteer. Linda took her first painting class on location in
Colorado in 1997.
Painting
en plein air has become Linda’s passion and it has led her to travel
all around the U.S. and to Europe on many painting trips. By
studying with nationally known instructors, she has developed a
solid foundation in the principles and elements of design.
Creative realism allows her to enhance color and simplify shapes to
produce unique
watercolors.
"Painting
en plein air is wonderful, frustrating, transforming, challenging,
and enriching. Soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells,
feeling
the heat of the sun or the blast of a cold wind, holding a
paintbrush in one hand while grabbing a bite of local food with the
other, all combine to help me capture what I feel about the subject.
Bugs in my paint? They just add texture!"
