Kathy
Dalrymple, although not born in Texas, moved here as an infant. Her
love
of Texas,
and especially the
Texas Hill Country, is evident in her artwork.
Kathy received a B.A. in fine arts
from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her area of
concentration was Printmaking with the emphasis of her work being
Serigraphy.
Through the
years she has experimented in all media but became interested in
mosaics about 8 years ago. Her work now includes glass on glass
mosaic windows, mulit-layer minatures, vases, and ornaments. In
addition to
incorporating both new and vintage stained glass, her pieces also
utilize vintage rhinestone, glass beads, marbles, rocks, turquoise
and pearls. Many of her works are inspired by Texas, and her themes
include native wildflowers, trees, and plants, the Texas flag, and
native wildlife.
She
is a member of the International Guild of Glass Artists, Texas Glass
Artist Association,
Society of American
Mosaic Artists, and the Weatherford Art Association.
Kathy has won numerous awards,
been featured in both magazine and newspaper articles, and her work
is displayed many places including the Texas State Capital building,
Mills County Historical Museum, restaurants, businesses, and in
private collections both in the United States and Europe.
