Theresa
feels fortunate to have grown up in a creative family surrounded by
art. Her childhood was spent working in graphite and pen & ink.
After graduation, career and family took over and for about 20 years
Theresa rarely touched a pencil or her inks. In early 2000 she
picked up color pencil, and then tried her hand with oil paints,
pastels and many other mediums as well as numerous crafts. Obviously
she was searching but began to feel art just wasn't in her heart
anymore until around 2006 when Theresa began sculpting. Her passion
for art was re-awakened!
Theresa loves mixing the realism of an animal with decorative
aspects which shows itself in her animal leather-design series. She
wants people to enjoy looking at her work, but more importantly,
Theresa wants them to feel the need to touch it and move in closer
to see the details of the design. Even sculptures created some time
ago still require her to regularly touch and feel the piece. It
brings Theresa great pleasure to know her work is on display in
someone's home.
