I
attended classes for 10 years at the San Antonio School of Art and
Craft studying under Jane Dunnewold, author/publisher and
internationally known textile designer/artist. My art has been
exhibited at the San Antonio Fiber Artist annual show, the Southwest
School of Art and Craft Student Show in San Antonio, the Duncan
McAshan Visual Art Gallery, Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram,
Texas of which I am a member and Viva Arts Gallery in San Antonio.
My works have also sold in Albuquerque, NM, and various shows,
galleries and boutiques throughout Texas.
Textile
art is a large part of my work creating fabric for wall hangings,
journal/book
covers and wearable art. I also “fell in love” with nuno felting
using merino wools to create bright color palettes which are made
into purses.
My art is
partially influenced by my travels to Europe and other countries;
from the architecture in Italy to the colorful background of
Guatemala. The colorful wildflowers of the Hill Country that
blanket the landscape and the serene calmness of the rolling hills
provide a boundless backdrop of inspiration for my work.
